The best project photos make it easy to see what changed. A phone, a clean lens, and a few consistent angles are enough to get started.
Match your before and after
Take a wide photo before work starts. Pick a fixed landmark, such as the corner of a driveway, and use it to find the same angle for the finished shot. When practical, shoot at a similar time of day so the lighting is comparable.
Show the detail customers care about
Alongside the wide shot, take one close-up of the finish. For a landscaping job, that could be the edge of a mulch bed or the transition between a path and the lawn. Add a short caption explaining the job and what changed.
Make a small gallery
Start with two or three projects that represent the work you want more of. Get permission before sharing photos of a customer’s property and check the frame for faces, house numbers, or license plates. Save the original photos so you can crop them later for your site and social posts.
Illustrated example · Match the camera position
Sample gallery caption: “Front bed refresh in Grandville. We removed overgrowth, reshaped the bed edge, and added mulch and low-growing plants.” Use the wide pair to show the change, then add one detail shot of the new edge.
